Former CFPB Director Rohit Chopra is poised to take on a major new role in California as Gov. Gavin Newsom’s pick to lead the state’s newly formed Business and Consumer Services Agency (BCSA), a cabinet-level entity set to oversee a wide range of regulators spanning financial services, licensing, real estate, and more.
